Job Summary:
We are seeking an EEG Technician to join our medical team. The EEG Technician will be responsible for conducting neurophysiological testing to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with neurological disorders.
Duties:
- Perform electroencephalograms (EEGs) on patients as directed by healthcare providers
- Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process and calming any anxieties
- Apply electrodes to predetermined measured locations on the patient's head
- Monitor and observe patients during EEG procedures to ensure accurate readings
- Document findings accurately in patient records for review by physicians
- Maintain and calibrate EEG equipment to ensure accurate test results
Requirements:
- Certification as an EEG Technician or completion of an accredited EEG program
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and vital signs
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations including CT scans
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Familiarity with neurophysiology and brain wave patterns
- Experience in interpreting EEG results for physicians' review
- Proficiency in operating EEG equipment and troubleshooting technical issues
